Shaun Hawkins
Born on June 18, 1966 in Portland, Maine
Portland High School

Shaun Hawkins ranks among the finest scholar-athletes the state has produced, a four-sport standout. The 1983 James J. Fitzpatrick Trophy winner as the top Class AA football player, he's a two-time All-AA first team wide receiver and was also AA second team safety last fall.

In addition, he earned the Vinnie Allen Memorial Trophy as the MVP in the 1982 Thanksgiving Game as Portland added the icing to its state championship cake and the John Griffin Memorial Trophy as Portland's MVP for the 1983 season.

Shaun has also been a two-year basketball regular at forward, three-year baseball centerfielder, and he went out for indoor track for the first time this past winter - quickly becoming a winning sprinter and long jumper (state Class A champion in the jump).

Also active in non-athletic organizations and a National Honor Society member, he is salutatorian (second ranked) of the 1984 Portland senior class of 233 with an average of 93.888. He'll attend Cornell University.
