Martha Beverage
Born on July 10, 1965 in Bangor, Maine
Education:

Not only Maine Central Institute's top female athlete, Martha Beverage is also the first ranked member of her graduating class of 125 with a perfecct 4.0.

A three-year field hockey and basketball participant, she's been the high schorer in each of the sports, scoring 1,000 points in basketball. As a four-year participant in track, Martha set school records in the mile, two mile, and shotput. She is a three year member of the National Honor Society with the highest average in her junior year, was a delegate to Girls' State, West Point and Annapolis WOrkshops, and Hugh O'Brien delegate, as well as being a Randolph Hearst scholar.

Martha is a three-year veteran of the school band, the Key Club, the Student Council, and the Peer Tutors, as well as serving as her class Treasurer.

Martha gained early admittance to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she will major in chemical engineering.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
