Jane Petrick
Born on July 8, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts

Jane Leigh Petrick is Bowdoin College's first three-time woman All-American in any sport. Four year's partcipation in cross country, two of them as team captain, has won her such titles as MAIAW State Champion, EAIAW Champion, Division III for two seasons, NESCAC Champion for two seasons and ranked her among the All-New England teams, All-East team and All-State team, the latter for four years.

She graduated with an AB degree in visual arts and anthropology, magna cum laude with many other credits to her name while at Bowdoin. She was a volunteer teacher's aide in elementary school, photographer for the Bowdoin year book, photographer for the Dartmouth College newspaper while on an exchange program and a volunteer cross country ski instructor for children through the Brunswick Recreation Department to name just a few of her activities.

An identical triplet, she plans to teach either anthropology or art.

Our Mission

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
