Jared Giroux

Jared is ranked #22 in his class of 241 with a GPA of 93.40. He has been accepted to attend Boston College with an undeclared major. He is the son of Debra Reny and Michael Giroux.

Jared played sports year 'round for the Blue Devils. In the fall he switched from football to soccer, received the Coach's Award and was selected to play in the Senior All-Star game. In baseball he has played at the varsity level for four years. In basketball he was team Captain, his team's MVP, received the Coach's Award, was named 2nd team All-SMAA and 2nd team All-State, and selected to play in the All-Star game. "His coaches have only high praise for his work ethic and sportsmanlike attitude he continually displays."

Jared is also involved with the National Honor Society, and has been a volunteer with the recreation department, YMCA, and a local hospital. Awards include the Williams Book Award and Honorary "Page for the Day" in the Maine State Senate. "Jared is a great person for the youth of Lewiston to associate with...a true role model in every sense of the word. He is always on time for work, is very respectful, and is willing to do whatever is needed."

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
