Erin Leydon

Erin is ranked #1 in her class of 136 with a weighted GPA of 103.72. She has been accepted to attend Amherst College with an undeclared major. She is the daughter of Kathie Leydon.

Erin was her Lakers team captain for Field Hockey, Basketball, and Softball. In field hockey she was a Western Maine Conference and State All-Star. She also was selected to the Maine Event field hockey team comprised of players from schools of all classifications. Several of her teammates stated that Erin had inspired them. They mentioned her great work ethic, competitiveness, and desire, but overwhelmingly they talked of her positive leadership and positive comments that had helped them.

As her school's Valedictorian she garnered several academic awards. She also found time beyond academics and athletics to belong to activities such as Math Team, AFS, National Honor Society, Winter Carnival, and class of 2001 fundraisers. She has also volunteered with elementary students in and out of the classroom. "Erin places her love of family first and has a great sense of personal responsibility. Erin is one of those remarkable people who has everything organized, will never be outworked, and will not give up until she has it right."

Our Mission

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
