Neal Waters
Born on August 22, 1985 in Augusta, Maine
Hall-Dale High School

Neal Waters has participated in soccer, basketball, and outdoor track and field at Hall-Dale High School. A three-year member of the Hall-Dale varsity soccer program, he was team captain on two occasions and named Honorable Mention for Central Maine during his senior season. Neal played varsity basketball for two years and was a Mountain Valley Conference Academic All-Star in 2003.

In his four years of participation in track and field, he was a member of a state championship relay team in 2000. Captain for three seasons, Neal was league champion in the 800 meter run in 2002 and a three-time MVC All-Conference Team award recipient. Neal is a member of the National Honor Society and serves on the Hall-Dale Student Senate. He is a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Neal ranks 5th in his class of 80 and has an impressive career grade average of 97.308. He plans to attend either Clark University or Connecticut College in the fall and intends to major in Communications and Cultures. Neal is the son of Catherine Murray and Michael Waters of Hallowell.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
