Daniel Campbell

Daniel Campbell has been active in soccer, cross country, basketball, and baseball in his four years at Greenville High School. He participated in the state championship cross country meet in Augusta during his senior year. A four-year member of the varsity basketball team, he was a captain in 2002-2003 and contributed to his squad in a starting role.

A four-year starter in baseball, Danny was the number one starting pitcher on the Greenville nine and served as the team's cleanup hitter. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Greenville math team, and the Spanish Club. A leader in his school, he was class vice-president his junior year and president this past year. The valedictorian of his class of 32 students, he has a career grade average of 96.7.

Danny plans to attend Bowdoin College in the fall and intends to major in Economics. He is the son of Bonnie and Scott Campbell of Greenville.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
