David Buzanoski
Born on June 13, 1985 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine
Nokomis High School

David Buzanoski has participated in soccer, basketball, and outdoor track and field in his four years at Nokomis High School of Newport. David has played varsity soccer for three years and served as captain of his squad during his senior season. He was named All-Conference in both his junior and senior years. A two-year varsity basketball player, he was captain in 2002-2003 and was named a Big East Scholar-Athlete both years. In addition, he was named to the All-State All-Academic Team and earned the Big East Spirit Award in 2003.

David also has been involved in outdoor track for two seasons and qualified for the state championships in the 3200 meter run last year. He has been active in the Key Club, Peer Mediation, the National Honor Society, his school's math team, and the marching band. He attended the National Youth Leadership Conference and was a National Merit Scholarship Award winner.

David has a career grade point average of 3.713 on a 4 point scale. He plans to attend Tufts University in the fall and major in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medical Studies. David is the son of Monique and Edward Buzanoski of Newport.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
