Crystal Martin has participated in soccer, basketball, softball, tennis, and cross country during her career at Calais High School. Crystal is a four-year letter winner in girls soccer and was a member of the Eastern Maine Class C runners-up in 1999. She was a member of the Downeast Athletic Conference All-Star team in 2001 and 2002 and garnered All-Eastern Maine Class C honors during those same years.
A member of the successful Calais girls' basketball team, she played on two Eastern Maine championship and two Eastern Maine runner-up squads. The most valuable player of her squad this past year, she also served as team captain and was named to the Eastern Maine All-Tournament Team. Crystal played for the Downcast Athletic Conference championship softball team in 2001 and was named to that league's All-Star team in 2002. Crystal has a career grade average of 96 in a challenging curriculum including several advanced placement courses. She has earned the University of Maine Scholar Achievement Award, the Society of Women Engineers Certificate, the Williams College Book Award, and the University of Rochester Humanities and Social Science Award.
A leader in her school, she has been a member and officer of the Calais Student Council and has been active in the Civil Rights Team and Mock Trial. She will attend Suffolk University in the fall and study criminology. She is the daughter of Mona and Alton Martin of Calais.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
