Oriana Farley has participated in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field at Hampden Academy. One of Maine's top distance runners, she began running at the national level at age 10. She holds seven state records for ages eight through fourteen in events ranging from 100 meters to 1500 meters. During her high school career, she has won ten conference titles, five individual state championships, and has sixteen top three finishes in state champion ship meets. Oriana has been named a member of the Penobscot Valley Conference All-Star team on ten occasions and has been an All-State athlete three times.
Oriana has excelled in a challenging high school curriculum including several advanced placement courses. Her 96.04 career average places her 13th in a class of 180 at Hampden Academy. Oriana has also been involved in a wide range of activities in her high school career. She has been a member of the Hampden Academy Student Council, National Honor Society, Key Club, and French Club. She is a member of the state championship mock trial team on two occasions and participated in the national championships in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2002.
In addition, she has volunteered her time with the "Meals on the Go" program and transports meals to people living in homeless shelters. Oriana will attend Brown University in the fall and plans to be a pre-med major. She is the daughter of Kim and Jon Farley of Hampden.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
