A three-sport player at Central High School in East Corinth, Traci Underhill has participated in field hockey, basketball, and softball. A four-year varsity letter winner in softball, she was named to the Penobscot Valley Conference honorable mention squad in 2004 and was a second-team all-league pick on two other occasions. Traci also played on the varsity basketball squad for four years and was named to both the McDonald's C-D All-Star Game and the McDonald's All-State Academic Team as a senior. A defensive stalwart on the hardwood, she has earned two berths on the PVC All-Defensive team and was an honorable mention selection on the Eastern Maine All-Tournament Team this past winter.
Traci has also earned accolades for her play in field hockey. One of the top players in the state of Maine, she has been an All-Conference pick on three occasions and earned first team honors in 2005. The captain of the Red Devils, she earned All-State and All-State All-Academic recognition as a senior. During a successful four-year career, she has appeared in three state championship games. She was her school's nominee for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
Traci also contributes to the life of Central High School through her active involvement with numerous clubs and programs. She is the president of her school's student council and was named to the National Honor Society during her junior year. She is very involved in Peer Mediators and the Math Team. A fine musician, she has performed with both the Central High School concert and jazz bands. Traci was selected by her school to represent it at Dirigo Girls State in 2005.
Traci's record of excellence is also reflected in her classroom studies as well. She has taken seven advanced placement classes within a very challenging academic curriculum. For her efforts, she has earned a career average of 97.89 and ranks third in her class of 101. Traci will further her education at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, where she plans to major in physical therapy. She is the daughter of Everett, Jr. and Sheila Underhill of Stetson.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
