A four-sport athlete at Dexter High School, Sabrina Cote has earned sixteen varsity letters in soccer, basketball, softball, and outdoor track and field. An outstanding soccer player for the Tigers, she was named a second team All-Penobscot Valley Conference performer as a freshman and earned first team nods in 2003, 2004, and 2005. She is also a two-time PVC All-Star in softball. As a track and field athlete, she holds her school's record for the mile run (5:34) and was a second team All-Cconference pick in the 800 and 1600 meter runs in 2003.
A talented player on the hardwood, Sabrina has been a key cog for a Tiger program that has made four consecutive appearances in the Class C state championship game. In leading Dexter to a state championship in 2006, she was named by the Bangor Daily News as winner of the Owen Osborne Award as the Eastern Maine tournament's most valuable player. She was a McDonald's Class C-D All-Star that same season and was a semi-finalist for the Miss Maine Basketball award. During her four seasons with the Dexter girls basketball program, the Tigers posted an overall record of 85 wins against only three defeats.
Sabrina contributes to life at Dexter High School in many other ways as well. She has been a class secretary for four years and was co-editor of the yearbook during her senior year. A member of the Dexter chorus, she has appeared in three musicals, including Oklahoma, Carousel, and South Paciflc. She represented Dexter as Dirigo Girls State last summer and is an officer in the National Honor Society.
Outstanding in the classroom, Sabrina is the valedictorian oflhe Dexter Class of 2006 and has a career grade point average of 3.63. She has earned numerous academic awards in subjects as diverse as English, earth science, biology, chemistry, social studies, Spanish, and mathematics. She was named the winner of the Colby College Book Award and the Society of Women Engineers Math and Science Award in 2005. Sabrina will continue her education at Bowdoin College, where she plans to major in public relations and play basketball for the Polar Bears. She is the daughter of Thomas and Valerie Cote of Dexter.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
