Kaitlyn Hall

Thornton Academy

A three-sport performer at Thornton Academy in Saco, Kaitlyn Hall has participated in soccer, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field during her four years at the school. Kaitlyn has earned four varsity letters in soccer and was named as a forward on the SMAA All-Star Team in 2009 when her team claimed the Western Maine Class A title. She led the team in scoring as a sophomore and ranks in the top five in school history in goals scored. As a senior, she was a team captain and selected to the SMAA All-Academic Team.

Kaitlyn was SMAA champion in the junior hurdles as a freshman, and was a top five finisher in the state championships in the high jump and the 4 x 200 relay during her four years. A member of the 2010 SMAA championship team, Kaitlyn also participated in the New England Track and Field meet during all four years of high school. During the outdoor season, she was a four-time SMAA All-Star and was part of a state championship 4 x 400 relay team in 2008. She was team captain as both a junior and a senior.

In addition to her participation in athletics, Kaitlyn has established a strong reputation as a leader in her school. She is active in community service activities, including the Volunteers of America Action Team and as a volunteer with middle school track and field. A member of the National Honor Society, Kaitlyn also received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and certificates of excellence in a range of academic subjects.

Kaitlyn has a career grade point average of 4.208 in a program that includes a number of honors and advanced placement courses. Kaitlyn ranks 10th out of a class of 288 students. She will attend the University of New England in the fall and plans on majoring in medical biology while pursuing pre-dental requirements. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Galen and Lisa Hall and resides in Dayton.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
